|Three teams from the Mountain West find a home in this week's AP Top 25 poll. They are San Diego State at #23, UNLV (#24), and New Mexico (#25).
San Diego State moves up two spots in the poll following a week that began with a win at home over Arkansas-Pine Bluff, 79-43. After that came another win at USC, 66-60.
UNLV moves down six places after a win against Iowa State, 82-70 and a loss to Oregon, 83-79. New Mexico enters the poll at #25 after wins against Portland, 69-54, Idaho, 73-58, and then-21st ranked Connecticut, 66-60.
Indiana holds steady at the top for the third week in a row.
Along with new entry New Mexico, Georgetown enters the Top 25 at #20 with an upset win on the road over then-11th ranked UCLA, 78-70, an overtime loss on the road to 1st ranked Indiana, 82-72, and a win at home over Mount St. Mary's, 72-50. Minnesota comes in at #21 with wins against Stanford, 66-63 and then-19th ranked Memphis, 84-75 and a loss to then-5th ranked Duke, 89-71. Illinois shows up at #22 with wins against Gardner-Webb, 63-62, Butler, 78-61, and Chaminade, 84-61. UCLA falls out of the rankings this week with an upset loss on the road to Georgetown, a win on the road over Georgia, 60-56, and an upset loss at home to Cal Poly, 70-68. Memphis drops out after a win against Northern Iowa, 52-47 and losses to Minnesota and Virginia Commonwealth, 78-65. Connecticut and Baylor also drop out this week.
